On
October 6, 2009, Westat
staff members gathered in 
Rockville, Maryland, to
attend the 2009
Annual Staff Meeting.
Staff 
signed in,
greeted each other, posed for 
photo-ops, and
socialized a bit prior to the
start of the meeting.
As in past years, attendance
was 
high and an upbeat mood
prevailed.
In his remarks, 
President
Joe Hunt reviewed the successful 2009 procurement
year and discussed the
goals of both 
ongoing and new programs.
He 
thanked
staff for Westat's accomplishments and continued success.
His presentation and this year's theme of "Back to School" were highlighted by superb graphics
created by members
of the 
Westat Graphics Department.

The Back
to School theme was further 
accentuated by small rulers,
flash cards, pencils, erasers, and 
other
items placed 
around the
buffet tables.
There was even
a cool sheet 
cake, created to look like a blackboard, for
all to enjoy.
At the 
conclusion of the
president's program, 
staff were able to sample a wide variety of
tasty food
from 
unique food-themed
buffet tables, while
socializing in an informal atmosphere.
